Peer Learning at Informative Technical Sessions
The 2008 ACHMM National Conference Technical Program is a must-attend event! Information-packed presentations of emerging, noteworthy and contemporary industry issues will be made by your peers: EHS&S and hazardous materials management industry professionals as well as engineers or students who work or study at private firms, government agencies, colleges or universities or serve in the U.S. military. Presentation sessions will be conducted Sept. 8 through 10.
The seven tracks of the 2008 ACHMM National Conference Technical Program and related presentation subtopics are:
- EH&S Management and Management Principles
Effective compliance strategies, environmental management systems, professional and leadership expertise, auditing and assessments, making the business case/business skills, project management excellence, time management/career and family balance
- Safety and Industrial Health
Industrial hygiene, occupational health, process safety management, responsible care, safety management systems and tools
- Waste Minimization/Pollution Prevention/Green Facilities
Hazardous materials substitution/reduction, recycling hazardous materials, sustainable development/processes
- Developments in Emergency Preparedness, Response and Homeland Security
Biohazards, biosafety and bioterrorism, natural and man-made disasters, hazardous materials transportation and transportation safety, industrial security, contingency plans, continuity of operations
- Environmental Actions
Air/water emissions and control, environmental restoration, indoor air quality, brownfields, risk assessment, due diligence, all appropriate inquiry
- Regulatory Requirements, Updates and Legal Trends
Analytical methods, electronic waste/RoH S, performance-based versus command -and- control regulation, beyond-compliance incentives
- New and Emerging Technologies/International Issues/Developing Countries/University Research Projects
Cutting-edge waste minimization, treatment or information technology and training tools that save time or make life easier for the EH&S manager. This track also includes issues unique to developing countries and international commerce
