Michael Mohaghegh is a Boeing Technical Fellow in Advanced Structures and Materials. with 40 years of experience in designing and analyzing aircraft (707, 737, 747, B1, 767, 777, 787, 747-8) and developing technology needs and roadmaps, and design standards. He is the developer and instructor for courses on static strength, design and analysis, finite element, and fatigue, fracture, and composites at The Boeing Company. Mohaghegh is the director of the Modern Aircraft Structures Certificate Program at the University of Washington. He also has taught classes for airlines, suppliers and universities in the U.S. and abroad. Previously, he held the positions of principal lead engineer, manager, and FAA DER for the Boeing Commercial Airplane Group. Mohaghegh been published in the Journal of Applied Mechanics, Journal of Aircraft, International Journal of Technical Sciences, International Journal of Mechanical Engineering Education, and the Boeing AERO magazine. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in structural engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and his Ph.D. in engineering mechanics from the University of Washington.
