All courses will be held at the San Diego Marriott Mission Valley, 8757 Rio San Diego Drive, San Diego, California 92108.
Lodging and transportation costs are not included in the course fees. Attendees will be responsible for acquiring their own lodging and travel arrangements. The following lodging and transportation suggestions are offered as a convenience and do not represent an endorsement.
A limited number of rooms have been reserved at the San Diego Marriott Mission Valley for course attendees. The rate is the U.S. federal government per diem. At this time, the rate is $137 for a single/double room plus applicable state and local occupancy taxes. These rooms will be held as a block, unless depleted, until August 21, 2009, at which time they will be released to the public. After August 21, room rate and availability cannot be guaranteed. State that you will be attending a University of Kansas aerospace short course and give the group code KANKANA. All reservations must be accompanied by a first night room deposit, or guaranteed with a major credit card.
Participants are responsible for their own parking fees. The San Diego Marriott Mission Valley will offer a discounted rate of $7.00 a day for day guests and overnight self parking.
The San Diego International Airport (SAN) is 8.1 miles (13 km) from the hotel. Cloud 9/Super Shuttle provides transportation for $12.00 each way to/from the Marriott Mission Valley hotel. (Fees are subject to change.) At the airport, the shuttle picks up at all ground transportation islands. Look for the island with a blue sign overhead which reads "Shuttles for Hire". Contact the airport customer service representative. Request Cloud 9/SuperShuttle and give your destination location — Marriott Mission Valley hotel. The representative will call a van for you. The Marriott Mission Valley hotel will help you make arrangements for the return shuttle. SuperShuttle customer service numbers are 858-974-8885 or toll-free in the United States, 800-258-3826.
