Who Should Attend

This seminar is designed for professionals who work in the state of Kansas. School, hospital, courthouse, fire, emergency management, emergency medical services and law enforcement personnel should attend.

What To Expect

School violence represents an ever-increasing concern for both school officials and emergency responders. The need for expertise in prevention and response planning cannot be overstated. The purpose of this training is to bring all stakeholders together to:

  • Provide law enforcement attendees with tactical concepts that are uniquely applicable to schools.
  • Provide a joint planning workshop for school, hospital, courthouse, fire, emergency management, emergency medical services and law enforcement personnel.
  • Understand international trends related to terrorism in schools and allow for open discussion on the topic.
  • Understand vulnerabilities as they apply to facilities in the Southwest Kansas Homeland Security region.
  • Provide a planning session to allow participants to develop an action plan specific to their respective jurisdiction.
  • Allow for cooperation with Safe Schools Initiative.
