Covers the mechanisms and principles of Darwinian evolution with special emphasis on human and primate data. Lecture topics include genetics, variation, primate ethology, and the fossil evidence for human evolution, Mendelian and population genetics, blood group systems, quantitative morphological variation, and fossil human and primate skeletal material. Thirteen written assignments; midcourse and final examinations. Instructor: Anne Justice.
