The appearance of mathematical symbols on the Web is influenced by the type of computer you use (PC or Macintosh), the operating system on that computer, and the browser (Netscape or Internet Explorer). Every attempt has been made to be certain the necessary symbols appear correctly in this course for multiple combinations of platform, operating system, and browser type.

We recommend viewing this course on a PC (Windows 98 or newer) using Netscape 7.1 or Internet Explorer 6, or on a Macintosh (OS 9 and newer) using either Netscape 7.1 or Internet Explorer 5 or newer. Browsers newer than those recommended will work equally well. Older browers may not display the pages and symbols correctly.
