Writing Assignments

Assignment Submission
Restrictions
  • Do not submit writing assignment 2 until the first one has been graded and returned to you.
  • Do not submit writing assignment 3 until you have taken Exam 1.
  • Do not submit more than 1 assignment per seven day period. No exceptions will be made.
Supervised Exams
  • Time allowed for each exam: 3 hours
  • Aids allowed for exams: none
  • Exam 1 covers lessons 1–4: You may apply to take the first exam after you have submitted writing assignments 1 and 2.
  • Exam 2 covers lessons 5–8: You may apply to take exam 2 after you have taken exam 1 and submitted writing assignments 3 and 4.
  • Final Exam covers lessons 9–12: You may apply to take the final exam after you have taken exam 2 and submitted writing assignment 5 and the course paper.

Your exam applications will not be approved until Independent Study Student Services has received all of the required assignments.

5 writing assignments: 

40%

1 course paper: 

15%

3 exams: 

45%

You must pass the final exam to pass the course.

The above formula applies only if you pass the final.
