Your instructor must return the essay for lesson 1 to you before you may submit any further essay assignments.

Number of Supervised Exams: 2 (midterm and final)

Time allowed for midterm: 2 hours
Aids allowed for midterm: none
Lessons covered on midterm: 1–5

You must submit one summary/reflection and the essays for lessons 1 and 5 before you apply to take the midterm exam. If you choose to complete and submit the essay for lessons 2 and/or 4, you must do so before you apply for the midterm.

Aids allowed for final: none
Lessons covered on final: 6–10

You must have submitted two summary/reflections and five essays and have completed the midterm examination before you may apply to take the final examination.

Course Grading Formula

two summaries/personal reflections 10%
five essays 50%
midterm exam 15%
final exam 25%

You must pass the final exam to pass the course. The above formula applies only if you pass the final.
