Dual Credit Courses

  1. Get Approved.

High school and home school students interested in enrolling in Independent Study courses should meet the following qualifications:

    • Have junior or senior class standing.
    • Have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0.

If you do not meet these qualifications and would still like to enroll, ask your principal or counselor to contact us.

  2. Find Your Course.

Browse the Independent Study courses and select the course and grading option that best meet your needs. You can choose from more than 65 freshman- and sophomore-level courses (courses numbered 100-299). (If you would like to enroll in a course numbered 300 or above, ask your principal or counselor to contact us.)

  3. Make It Count.

Obtain permission from your principal or counselor to enroll and ask if your school will award high school credit for the course. If so, your school determines the amount of high school credit to be awarded and the time frame in which a course must be completed for high school credit. The University of Kansas only awards the college credit.
