Overview

This program is designed to provide nurses up-to-date information on cardiology and cardiothoracic treatment modalities.

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, the participant will:

  • Identify recent advances in the management of cardiac arrhythmias in the Electrophysiology Lab.
  • Review of commonly used natural products in the treatment of cardiovascular disease.
  • Define treatments for heart failure that provide either symptom control or survival enhancement.
  • Identify, assess and triage patients with chest pain.

Accreditation

The University of Kansas Hospital Education and Development is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.


The Cardiac Nursing Symposium is offered for 6.25 contact hours applicable towards RN/LPN re-licensure. No partial credits will be given.
