Overview

This program will provide a comprehensive overview of novel imaging modalities, including high-resolution and high-definition endoscopy and narrow-band imaging. This will include an in-depth review of the diagnostic and therapeutic utility of these techniques by didactic lectures, endoscopy photographs, video clips and live demonstrations.

Target Audience

This program is designed for gastroenterologists specializing in the field of endoscopy.

Objectives

At the completion of this program, participants should be able to:

• List various new techniques available for imaging of metaplasia, dysplasia and cancer
• Recognize the shortcomings of standard white light endoscopy in screening and surveillance for gastrointestinal neoplasia
• Recognize the potential diagnostic and therapeutic utility of novel imaging techniques in patients with Barrett’s esophagus, colon polyps and inflammatory bowel disease
