If leadership and learning are to occur for healthcare providers as they move into the future, better partnership, creativity and innovation must be their guides. To avoid professional irrelevance, we must not only develop strategies but we must first have a vision. No generation can move successfully into the future without first dealing with its own expectations. This is equally true for the healthcare profession. Imagining an accurate vision of our future is the major task of leadership in healthcare today.
This program grapples with creating a partnership between future and current health practices. As Leland Kaiser so accurately points out, "We all live within someone’s perception of reality." It is this reality we acknowledge as we present new skills and processes in healthcare that will affect the construction of our future. We want to create a paradigm that both challenges our experience and inspires new insights.
