Overview

This series features local and regional experts that will convey relevant and cutting edge issues that are about to emerge as national issues of interest. This series is designed to keep faculty, staff, and students on the cutting edge of new dimensions in health services.

This series is designed to:

• Affirm and/or improve attendees’ knowledge of core information;
• Disseminate information about advancements in the field;
• Improve attendees’ competence in clinical care, research, education, or other professional responsibilities;
• Improve the outcomes of clinical care; and
• Improve the capabilities of attendees to function within the organization and/or system of care delivery

At the completion of this series, participants should be able to:

• Discuss new and emerging research findings that will affect patient treatment modalities.
• Discuss ethical issues related to the new and emerging treatment modalities.
• Appraise how the new information will affect education and practice.
• Revise education and practice commensurate with new and emerging information.
