You are invited to submit abstracts for presentation during the plenary and poster sessions at the Kansas Conference in Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology in Lawrence, Kansas, on October 16–18, 2008.
We intend this conference to be 1) a forum for research presentations that help translate science into clinical practice, and 2) a forum for presentations on service delivery that identifies empirical bases and research needs. The field of clinical child and adolescent psychology is broadly defined, covering a range of topics in child, adolescent, and family mental health.
The conference will include keynote addresses, topical reviews, and paper presentations on topics in child and family mental health. We have identified certain topics for emphasis during the plenary sessions, but for poster presentations, we will consider any topic within the realm of clinical child, pediatric, school, and family psychology; mental health services; and research on children, adolescents, and families. Recognized experts on the emphasized topics will chair the paper sessions and provide an overview presentation for each topic. Additional plenary presentations will include invited speakers on topics of particular significance to practice and science.
Abstract submissions are particularly encouraged in the following areas:
Abstract submissions for poster sessions will be considered on any topic relevant to clinical child and pediatric psychology or child and family mental health.
Conference participants are invited to submit 350- to 500-word abstracts for oral and poster presentations. An abstract should include the presentation title; all authors’ names, titles, and affiliations; and a name, mailing address, and e-mail address for correspondence. Indicate whether the submission is for consideration as a paper, a poster, or either type of presentation. Authors should use the following headings when preparing abstracts: Purpose/Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
The Deadline for Submission of Abstracts was
Midnight on Wednesday, June 25, 2008.
Thank you for your interest.
