2011 Core Outcomes Project Meeting

The University of Kansas is pleased to host the 2011 meeting of the Kansas Board of Regents Core Outcomes Project. The Project will bring together faculty from Kansas public community colleges, the six regents universities and Washburn university for the purpose of developing core outcomes and competencies for lower level general education courses offered within the state. After a brief morning session, the discipline groups will meet with their convener to update, evaluate, and refine the comprehensive course listing found in the most recent Core Outcomes Report.

Reminder: Updated Core Outcomes Reports and minutes are due to Sarah Crawford-Parker at scrawpar@ku.edu by December 1, 2011. Please use the templates provided for these reports.

Important Parking Information

Effective August 1, the University of Kansas Parking & Transit Office will go to a new gated parking system at the Mississippi Street Parking Garage near the Kansas Union. When entering the garage you will be issued a parking permit which will give you access to the garage. The parking fee will be $1.25 per hour, which you will pay when exiting the garage. You can either pay with a credit card at the gate or get a pay voucher at one of the pay stations. If you have any questions concerning parking, please call Pam Hicks at 785-864-7875.

Lodging

Welcome to Lawrence. Below are hotel suggestions. You can also go to the Lawrence Convention & Visitors Bureau website for more lodging options.

  • The Oread Hotel, 1200 Oread Ave., 785/843-1200 is the closest hotel to the Kansas Union.
  • The Eldridge Hotel, 701 Massachusetts, 785/749-5011 is located in downtown Lawrence.
  • The SpringHill Suites, 1 Riverfront Plaza, 785/841-2700 is minutes away from downtown overlooking the river.
