N.E. (Bill) Battikha, P.E.

Bill is a registered professional engineer with over 30 years of experience in the field of Process Instrumentation and Control, working mainly in the U.S. and Canada. He holds a bachelor of science in engineering. He has produced and conducted Instrumentation and Control training courses for over 10 years at many universities in the U.S. and Canada and also at the ISA.

Bill co-authored a patent and has written three books on Instrumentation and Control, all published by the ISA, with the last book being an ISA best-seller. He is also a member of many ISA committees that generate new standards. He has presented papers at many international conferences and has written numerous articles for major technical magazines.

Bill's engineering activities have covered the development of engineering standards and the generation of control philosophies and functional specifications. He has designed complete control systems, guided and inspected the work of engineering consultants, monitored contractors on-site, and personally carried on plant commissioning and startup. He has assisted plants in troubleshooting and resolving problems in engineering, construction and maintenance.

Bill is president of Bergotech, Inc., an engineering firm specializing in Instrumentation and Control Engineering.

John Mohrman

John Mohrman is a Partner of James Controls and a principal controls engineer with 25 years in the engineering, design, and management of process control projects.

John has served clients in the chemical, refining, pharmaceutical, and power industries, working on a variety of projects, including boiler controls, burner management systems, process heater controls, safety instrumented systems, control systems modernizations, gasoline blending systems, and stack gas monitoring systems (CEMS).

John has specified process instrumentation and electrical distribution equipment, developed detailed installation scope of work packages, and prepared piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs), loop wiring diagrams, conduit and cable layouts, motor control schematics, control systems logic diagrams and instrument installation detail drawings. He is experienced with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS). John has supervised the installation and start up of many of the projects that he developed as a process control and instrument engineer. He has also supervised and monitored the progress other engineering contractors acting as the client representative on many large projects

John holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University and is a member of the Instrumentation, Systems, and Automation Society (ISA).
