Kansas City is truly the "Heartland of the United States." Part of Kansas City's charm is its beauty. The city boasts more fountains than any city except Rome and more boulevard miles than Paris. The entertainment opportunities are endless. From dining to shopping, museums to amusement parks, performing arts to sports, Kansas City has it all!
The Country Club Plaza, built in 1922, has become one of Kansas City's favorite attractions and is the site of the Hampton Inn-Country Club Plaza hotel. The Plaza has some of the city's finest shops and restaurants. Modeled after Seville, Spain, the Plaza's red-tiled roofs, ornate ironwork, mosaics, statues, and sparkling fountains make it more than just a shopping district. Bright red trolley cars travel between the Plaza and the city's many other attractions, including Westport, the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art and Design, Crown Center, and the River Market.
